Hmm. For this assignment, I immediately thought of "Metal Horns". I think that's what they're called. I've always associated them with anything that's Rock n' Roll. Of course, they are less commonly used today although they are very widely accepted and recognized among many different cultures. That's the main reason I chose this symbol. To me, it means wayne world and heavy metal. To my parents, it means Satanic symbolism. I'm sure in other cultures, it means many other things.
If I had to look at it or read further into it, I would have to strictly associate it with music. I don't see anything "Satanic" about it. I think I think this way because I've always tied it in with good feelings, metal music and waynes world. I can definitely see how someone may take it completely different due strictly to the physical position of the hand. Of course showing your feet in the U.S. doesn't mean the same thing as showing your feet somewhere else. Pretty interesting stuff!
